Who we are
We consider ourselves ordinary people on an extraordinary mission to find a cure for cancer.
Voices of Hope is a registered, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization whose members share a passion for the performing arts and a desire to join the fight against cancer by raising awareness and funds for cancer research.
Founded by local performer Greg Chastain, who lost his mother in 2009 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, our members are all volunteer directors, technicians, vocalists, dancers, musicians and supporters of the arts who dedicate their time and talents to the fight against cancer. Nearly every one our members has a personal relationship with someone who has or is battling cancer... some are survivors themselves... too many have lost loved ones to this terrible disease.
What we do
With music as our voice, we share stories of hope, loss, and courage to raise awarness and funds to support cancer research, and to inspire others to join our fight for a cure!
VOH produces two major performance events a year, as well as a number of other more intimate performances and fundraising activites that raise awarness of and financial support for our mission.
To date, our major performance events have been at such beautiful venues as Boston's Symphony Hall, New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall, and the beautiful ocean side Shalin Liu theater in Rockport. This year we are proud to add the North Shore Music Theater to our list of wonderful performance venues. VOH has also supported the ACS Making Strides Walk at the Hatch Shell, The Breath Deep 5K Walk for Lungevity on Castle Island and the Walk for Hospice in Danvers by providing musical entertainment. VOH is honored to have performed the National Anthem for the Patriots, Red Sox, Lowell Spinners and Boston Lobsters. VOH is proud to be a member of MGH's One Hundred Club.
Where the money goes
To date, VOH has donated over $185,000 in support of cancer research.
In 2013, Voices of Hope is proud to be supporting the new Henri and Belinda Termeer Center for Targeted Therapies at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.
